A Romantic London House Wedding | Cathy & Kyle

We recently caught up with Cathy and Kyle to reminisce about their stunning August wedding at the luxurious London House in Chicago, IL. Every detail of this romantic, whimsical wedding left us in awe, and we couldn’t wait to learn more about what inspired our lovely couple. From their planning process to advice for future couples, Cathy and Kyle were kind enough to share their experiences. Here’s what they had to say about their beautiful day at London House.

A Party to Remember

Wedicity: What was one of the most important things you wanted to incorporate into your wedding day?

Cathy & Kyle: We wanted to throw an amazing party with all our family and friends. And we did! People are still telling us how much fun they had!

Creating a Romantic Ambiance

Wedicity: We loved all of the thoughtful details you incorporated. How did you choose your wedding ambiance, and were there any special details that were important to you?

Cathy & Kyle: We initially wanted an outdoor ceremony but didn’t want the stress of dealing with unpredictable weather. Instead, we decided to bring the outdoor garden ambiance indoors! The florist, Ashland Addison, played a huge role in creating that “romantic summer garden” vibe. The London House ballroom, with its floor-to-ceiling windows, gave us the outdoor feel we were looking for, without the worry of bad weather.

Why Hire a Wedding Planner?

Wedicity: When you started planning, what made you want to hire a wedding planner?

Cathy & Kyle: We knew things could go wrong on the day of the wedding, and we didn’t want to worry about it. We wanted to enjoy every moment without stressing about the logistics or details. Wedicity took care of everything. Tionna coordinated with all our vendors months before the wedding, especially in the final month, which made those last weeks so much easier. She also asked questions we never would have thought to ask until it was too late!

On the day of the wedding, the Wedicity team brought three planners. They were a huge resource and made sure everything ran smoothly. We couldn’t have done it without them.

What to Look for in a Wedding Planner

Wedicity: What were you looking for when selecting a wedding planner?

Cathy & Kyle: From the start, Wedicity stood out because of how Tionna made us feel about our day. She put us at ease with her vast knowledge, experience, and confidence. We had no idea how important it would be, but Tionna was also incredibly responsive. Whenever we had questions, she would get back to us within hours, even while traveling. That level of responsiveness reduced our stress and made us feel so supported throughout the planning process.

From the first call to the wedding day, Tionna and her team were on top of everything. We couldn’t have pulled off our dream wedding without Wedicity!

Advice for Future Couples

Wedicity: What advice would you give to engaged couples about their upcoming wedding day?

Cathy & Kyle: Wedding planning is stressful, so take all the help you can get and try to enjoy the process. Start planning as early as possible—the more decisions you need to make quickly, the more stressful it becomes. Also, take time to find vendors who align with your vision. It sounds simple, but knowing that your vendors understand your style means you’ll get what you want in the end.
