Megan & Brian's Summer Wedding

Who said long distance relationships don’t work?! Distance wasn’t anything but a number to Megan and Brian. For a few years, Megan and Brian’s relationship spanned over 200 miles from Milwaukee to Bloomington before they decided to tie the knot!

Megan met Brian when he came down to Bloomington to visit a mutual friend. After hanging out, they realized they had a lot in common. While long distance isn’t ideal for all, they made it work. Shortly after graduating from college, they moved in together in Atlanta.

It wasn't long before, Brian took Megan to the top of a hill overlooking a vineyard north of Atlanta and popped the question! Megan said she was so surprised and “didn’t even realize what was happening until the last minute.” Can you imagine the view? So cute!

After the engagement comes the fun part: planning the wedding! Seeking wedding planning advice, Megan and Brian’s friends insisted they get a wedding planner. Brian’s cousin referred them to Wedicity (and we’re glad she did)!

There is a lot that needs to be checked off of the planning list and many “must haves.” For Megan and Brian, their “must haves” entailed a photo with their dashing dog, a fun-filled reception and making sure everyone enjoyed themselves. After checking in with Megan, she said, “I am very happy to report we checked everything off of both of our lists!”

Their ceremony was held at the gorgeous Wilder Mansion with the ceremony in the gardens. Officiated by their good friend Jacob Hyland, who presided over a very thoughtful ceremony which included a tree-planting ceremony to symbolize the roots of their relationship and their continued growth in marriage. Their parents joined them by watering the tree to represent the love and support that both nature and marriage requires for strength.

Megan and Brian kept it simple, yet elegant; wanting their relaxed personalities to be molded into the wedding. They chose a light color palette with blush pinks to fit in with the summer season and simple decor with small personal touches of personalized matchbook place cards!

Their favorite part of the wedding? “It is so hard to a favorite moment,” Megan said. “The entire day was perfect and I enjoyed every moment of it.”
