2022 - Our Year in Review

2022 was an incredible year for the Wedicity team, filled with growth, new adventures, and unforgettable weddings. We're filled with gratitude and pride for everything we’ve accomplished. As a team, we've risen to every challenge and created extraordinary wedding weekends for our wonderful couples! Let’s take a moment to reflect on the highlights of our year.

WE MOVED!

While our office address didn’t technically change, we upgraded to a larger space right in the heart of West Loop at 171 N. Aberdeen St. With a growing team, we no longer have to share desks and work shoulder to shoulder. We love our new office and are excited about the possibilities it brings!

SUMMER INTERNSHIP

This summer, we welcomed two amazing interns, Emily and Elyse (aka "Emilyse"), who joined us for the Wedicity Internship Experience. Over the course of 16 weeks, they got hands-on experience both in the office and on-site at weddings and events. Their dedication and enthusiasm were unmatched, and we can't wait to see what they achieve in their future careers!

WEDDING MBA

In November, we packed our bags and headed to Las Vegas for the Wedding MBA conference. This week was filled with learning, networking, and getting inspired by industry professionals from across the country. And, in true Wedicity fashion, we made sure to enjoy all the fun and excitement Vegas has to offer!

STYLED SHOOTS

Our planners had the chance to get creative this year by coordinating their own styled shoots. Not only did this allow us to express our individual styles, but we also worked with new vendors to showcase their talents. We’re thrilled that many of these shoots were featured in top publications like Lakeshore in Love Blog and Chicago Style Weddings Magazine.

A LITTLE R&R

Planning weddings is rewarding, but it requires immense energy and attention to detail. This year, each team member was able to take some well-deserved personal trips abroad for rest and relaxation, with destinations like France, Italy, and Cabo! In addition, we celebrated our hard work mid-summer with a team boat cruise on Lake Michigan—a day filled with beautiful memories of our city from the water.

VOLUNTEER FOR GOOD

Every quarter, we plan a volunteer day as a team, and this year was no different. We partnered with various organizations close to our hearts, including Habitat for Humanity, Lincoln Park Community Services Center, and Breakthrough's Refresh Market. Giving back to our community is an integral part of who we are, and we love lending a hand where it’s needed.

WEDDINGS & EVENTS!

We had the privilege of producing over 50 weddings and events in states including Ohio, Florida, California, Illinois, and Wisconsin! Each wedding was unique and special to the couple, and we loved getting to know their stories. A heartfelt thank you to all of our client couples who trusted us with their big day—it’s an honor to bring your wedding day dreams to life!

FUELED EVENTS

In response to the pandemic, we launched Fueled Events in 2020 to provide safe, creative event experiences. Fast forward to 2022, and Fueled Events is thriving! We helped produce major Chicago-based endurance events with LifeTime Fitness, planned events for brands like Levi’s, Walgreens, and PepsiCo, and worked on outdoor events like Pride in the Park. It’s been an exciting journey, and there’s even more to come!

As the founder of Wedicity and Fueled Events, I couldn’t be prouder of my team and what we’ve accomplished. Ten years ago, I had big dreams but wasn’t sure where they would lead. Today, I’m humbled by the growth of our team and brand. Watching our planners perfect their craft and become leaders in the industry means the world to me. We’ve come so far, and I can’t wait to see where the future takes us.
